Nigeria’s Minister of Communications and Digital Economy Prof. Ibrahim Pantami has disassociated himself from a presidential campaign poster.
Pantami an indigene of Gombe State, was the former boss of the National Information Technology Development Agency, prior to his appointment as minister.
Recently, he was enmeshed in a professorial saga after the Federal University of Technology Owerri, elevated him as professor of Cyber security.
This led to the suspension of the former chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Gombe branch. The CAN leader was relieved of his duties following his congratulatory message without ‘approval’.
Following a viral poster on social media, our correspondent contacted an aide to the Minister, Affan Abuya, about the veracity of the poster.
Abuya waved it off, saying it was the handiwork of the Minister’s detractors.
He added that it was untrue.
He noted that the poster didn’t emanate from Pantami’s camp.
“Is fake from enemies,” Abuya said
