The Progressive Ambassadors for the All Progressives Congress(APC), has urged Nigerians to shun religious and ethnic sentiments by voting for only competent candidates in the 2023 presidential election.

Mr Ikechukwu Norbet, the National Co-ordinator, Progressive Ambassadors for APC, said this when he spoke with newsmen on Friday in Abuja.

“Our group is a conglomeration of Nigerians, mostly young people with the objective to engage citizens at the grassroots in the 774 Local Government Areas of the country, using the achievements of the party to canvass support,” he said.

Norbet said that the group plans to hold its inaugural lecture with the theme:” Support Groups Political Participation in Winning an Election in Nigeria” in Abuja on Aug.30.
He said that a paper would be delivered by Dr Olagunju Folorunsho of the Department of Political Science, University of Abuja at the lecture.

He said that the lecture was targeted at bringing support groups from all fields together to network, exchange ideas and share experiences on how to support APC to win elections.

“Some of the highlights of the event will include the decoration of our patrons, youth influencers and the unveiling of our special project: “The Tinubu and Shettima Volunteer Forces.

“These volunteers are people of like minds from professional bodies, youth groups and Nollywood actors who will work for Tinubu and Shettima presidency ahead of 2023,” he said.

Norbet said that the Tinubu-Shettima ticket of the party was one of the bests in Nigeria.

According to him, Sen. Bola Tinubu, APC 2023 presidential candidate and Sen. Kashim Shettima have been tested in several levels of governments and have shown competency.

He said that the APC would emerge victorious in the 2023 presidential election, because Nigerians needed leaders that would create employment and ensure peaceful co-existence.

He encouraged Nigerian youths to support the APC, promising that they would be carried along, if the party win the election.

He said that the government was working round the clock to ensure security across the country and a peaceful environment before, during and after the 2023 general elections.
