The general public may recall my posting on the 23 July, 2022 expressing my excitement in farm work and pointing out the ills of our government at the local level. I didn’t insult our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to a statement signed by Hon. Akpomoshi Musa, Deputy Chairman, Kokona Local Government Council, Hon. Musa tendered an apology to his party the All Progressives Congress and the LGA Chairman, Hon. Awalu Adamu. Adding that he was misunderstood.

Deputy Chairman, Kokona LGA, Hon. James Akpomoshi Musa, posing for a photo in his farm in protest against the perceived neglect of his office by the Council Chairman whom he also accused of running a one man show in the affairs of the Council

“I only raised issues of concern that should prompt the Executive Chairman into action to give his people good governance.”

“It’s about a year since we assumed office, specific meetings were not held officially where ideas are sort and vision are shared on governance of the people. As a Deputy Chairman, I don’t remember when we had management, security, F/GPC, Council and or even governing APC meetings. This is unacceptable, most especially in this electioneering year.”

The general public deserves to know how we conduct the affairs of the local government. When I am asked, I have nothing to say to them as the Deputy Chairman? The long silence is not good for the ruling Party that was my point. I cried out because if this administration fails, it will be mentioned that I was part of it but said nothing. This is coming on the heels of many failed attempt to approach the Hon. Chairman personally to advice him accordingly. I was surprised instead of accepting the points and addressing them for the good of our party, the media aide chose to engage me on whether I abandoned my office and concentrated farming.

As you did mentioned, the Hon. Chairman goes to farm, so also I do on weekends. Nigerians may recall when His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari called on all citizens to return to farming. There is no section of the local government law that stipulates impeachment for anyone that goes to farm on weekends, if there is then we are all guilty for farming.

“Lastly, in my write up, the Honorable Chairman was not accused of any illness or incapacitation healthwise; but he is not an all knowing.”

Hon Musa had resorted to farming and also posting pictures of himself in the farm in protest of perceived neglect of his office as the Deputy Chairman of Kokona LGA, Nasarawa State.
