The National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) and the Nigeria Automobiles Manufacturers Association (NAMA) have embarked on collaborative efforts to expedite the passage and effective implementation of the National Automotive Industry Development Plan (NAIDP).
During a courtesy visit by NAMA to the Council, Mr. Joseph Osanipin, the Director General of NADDC, emphasized the significant opportunities within the automotive industry. He stressed the need for a well-structured and properly implemented Auto Policy to fully harness the industry’s vast potentials.
Osanipin stated, “The Auto Policy is crucial for the growth and development of the automotive industry. We will engage major stakeholders to swiftly pass the NAIDP bill, and discussions will focus on the proper steps for implementation.
“He affirmed the Council’s readiness to collaborate with key stakeholders, including NAMA, in advancing the NAIDP project.
The Chairman of NAMA, Mr. Bawo Omagbitse, led the team and praised the Director General for promptly engaging with stakeholders. He expressed optimism that the collaboration between NADDC and NAMA would progress positively.
Omagbitse highlighted NAMA’s significance for the technological development of the auto industry and assured full support from team members across various industry segments. He conveyed their eagerness to share knowledge with the Council for the industry’s growth and development.
