During his inaugural visit to Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company (IVM) in Nnewi, Anambra State on November 14, 2023, Osanipin commended the substantial activities and significant investment at the facility despite prevailing economic challenges.
“From what I have seen here today, I think I have a better understanding of what IVM is doing in terms of quality and quantity. These are eye-openers for us,” Osanipin remarked, expressing satisfaction with the showcased CNG vehicle capable of traveling over 1,000 kilometers on a fully filled cylinder.Osanipin reiterated NADDC’s commitment to fostering a conducive environment for the auto industry’s growth, announcing plans to meet with the Nigeria Automotive Manufacturers Association (NAMA) for further collaboration. He emphasized the need to promote and publicize the achievements within the local auto industry.
“With proper attention and incentives, the Nigeria Automotive Industry could play a pivotal role in promoting economic growth and development,” Osanipin affirmed, advocating for increased support and patronage of made-in-Nigeria vehicles.
Highlighting NADDC’s readiness for effective collaboration with stakeholders, Osanipin stressed that the partnership aims to provide support to industry operators and empower NAMA to market their products effectively.
During the factory inspection, Mr. Innocent Chukwuma, the Managing Director of Innoson Manufacturing Company, expressed optimism that challenges facing the local auto industry could be overcome, particularly with the anticipated enactment of the New Nigeria Automotive Industry Development Plan (NAIDP) into law. He clarified that the new IVM Facility under construction was designed to support the CNG project of the Federal government.
