NEPC and NCX Forge Alliance to Boost Non-Oil Exports

In a bid to strengthen Nigeria’s non-oil export sector, the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) and the Nigeria Commodity Exchange (NCX) have announced a collaborative effort to enhance inter-agency cooperation.

This strategic alliance aims to drive economic development through the bolstering of non-oil exports. The decision was reached during a courtesy visit on Tuesday in Abuja, where Mrs. Nonye Ayeni, Executive Director/CEO of NEPC, and Mr. Anthony Atuche, MD/CEO of NCX, discussed the potential for synergistic efforts.

Mrs. Ayeni highlighted the importance of special activities and foundational linkages that could facilitate the development and promotion of non-oil exports. She expressed confidence in the benefits of a deeper connection with the NCX, emphasizing that value-added agro-exports could lead to increased volume, value, and quality in agro-commodity trading.

Mr. Atuche, in welcoming Mrs. Ayeni, expressed optimism about the future of this partnership. He anticipates a robust and mutually beneficial relationship with the NEPC, describing the collaboration as a potential major booster for Nigeria’s non-oil export sector.

This initiative marks a significant step towards diversifying Nigeria’s economy and reducing its dependency on oil exports.
