The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd has issued a statement clarifying that the explosion reported at a filling station in Ikeja, Lagos, earlier today has no connection with its recently commissioned NNPC Gas Marketing Ltd (NGML) and NIPCO Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations.
In a statement released by Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd, the company emphasized that all NGML facilities in Lagos, including pipelines, metering stations, above-ground installations, and CNG stations, remain in safe operating condition. The statement further assured the public that the NGML was not impacted by the explosion and is not involved with the operations of the affected filling station.
NNPC Ltd reassured Lagos residents and the general public that their facilities are functioning safely without any incidents.
The company’s statement aims to dispel any concerns or misconceptions linking the explosion to their operations.
