The Managing Director of the Bank of Industry (BoI), Dr. Olasupo Olusi, has reiterated the bank’s commitment to bolstering local manufacturing in Nigeria. During a recent official visit to Zeberced Group’s facilities at the Idu Industrial Layout, Abuja, Olusi expressed satisfaction with the progress made by the company and emphasized the importance of promoting “Proudly Made in Nigeria” products.

During his tour of the site, Dr. Olusi highlighted the pivotal role of job creation in the country’s industrialization agenda. He commended Zeberced Group’s contribution to Nigeria’s economic development and stressed the importance of developing local industries to reduce dependence on imports.

“Zeberced Group’s achievements over the past 17 years, particularly in producing innovative construction materials and executing key infrastructure projects, are remarkable,” said Mr. Olusi. “The Bank of Industry is proud to have supported such a forward-thinking enterprise, and we remain committed to aiding the growth of indigenous industries that create jobs and contribute to the country’s industrialization.”

The Zeberced Group, a leading industrial conglomerate, has been a significant player in Nigeria’s industrial landscape, providing construction materials and delivering major infrastructure projects across the country. Their facilities, including advanced production lines and technology-driven manufacturing processes, were showcased during the visit, underscoring the group’s contribution to local economic development.

Zeberced Group Sees Nigeria as Future Industrial Hub

Mr. Aydin Kurt, Managing Director of Zeberced Group, shared his optimism for Nigeria’s industrial potential, emphasizing that the country could become a global industrial leader with the right support. He called for greater collaboration between the public and private sectors, urging more partnerships with the Bank of Industry to promote industrialization and attract foreign investments.

“Nigeria has tremendous potential, and I believe it could be the future of the world in terms of industrialization,” Kurt said. “However, to achieve this, we must prioritize local production and reduce reliance on imports. We need more collaboration between industry stakeholders to create a synergy that will attract investors and spur economic growth.”

Kurt also emphasized the importance of partnerships like the one with the BoI, which has provided crucial financial backing to help expand their operations and boost Nigeria’s industrial capacity.

In response, Mr. Olusi reaffirmed the Bank of Industry’s commitment to supporting infrastructure development and industrial growth across Nigeria. He noted the significance of Zeberced Group’s focus on Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), which he described as vital for job creation and overall economic growth.

“This project is not only important to Zeberced Group but to the nation as a whole. We are committed to supporting the proliferation of industrial parks and manufacturing hubs like this one across Nigeria. What makes Zeberced unique is its focus on MSMEs, which play a critical role in job creation and economic growth,” Mr. Olusi stated.

He reiterated the BoI’s mandate to empower the MSME sector and reaffirmed the bank’s dedication to facilitating access to financing and infrastructure for these enterprises.

“We will continue to work closely with industrial partners to ensure that Nigeria’s manufacturing and industrial sectors thrive. Together, we are building a stronger, more industrialized nation that can compete globally,” Olusi concluded.
