ERGP: We’re focused on results―Minister of Trade

The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Okechukwu Enelamah has said that the federal government is committed to actualising the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP).

The minister was speaking at the 2017 management retreat for the ministry and its parastatals held on Friday in Makurdi, Benue State capital.

Enelamah, who expressed that there is urgent need to chart path for growth and sustainable development of the economy, stated that with the launch of Federal Government Economic Recovery Growth Plan, the ministry has the onerous task to work towards actualising the policy within space of time.

He stated that the quest to actualise this necessitated the theme of this year retreat, ‘Implementing the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan through Industry, Trade and Investment.’

The minister therefore called on the participants to use the opportunity to come out with possible ways that will drive economic transformation with emphasis on improving Public Sector efficiency.

He told the participants that the ministry is a key sector in the drive towards economic diversification of the country through promoting rapid industrialization, trade and investment in the nation.

Enelamah added that the ministry also has a great role by creating enabling business environment that will facilitate development of infrastructural development of Small and Medium Scale Enterprise.

“Also to proactively promoting local and foreign investment, facilitating local and international trade and strengthening ties with strategic development partners”, Enelamah, said.
